A Game Artist is a digital creator who produces the visual assets—such as characters, environments, props, and UI—that populate a video game world. Responsibilities include:

• Painting 2D concept art and orthographic projections.
• Modeling and texturing 3D assets optimized for real-time rendering.
• Creating 2D sprite sheets for indie or mobile games.

Game Artists use a blend of 2D and 3D software. Key tools include:

• Adobe Photoshop (For concepting and UI).
• Maya or Blender (For 3D modeling).
• Substance Painter (For PBR texturing).
• Engine Integration (Exporting FBX files into Unity/Unreal).

While a Game Artist creates the visual look (the models, textures, and colors), a Game Developer writes the programming code that dictates how those visuals move, interact, and function within the game engine.
