About me
I am a UK editor and proofreader specialising in academic and technical documents, business writing, memoirs and nonfiction books. A former business newspaper editor with a senior IT and programme-management background, I improve grammar, clarity, structure, flow, consistency and tone while preserving your meaning and voice.
I edit manually in Microsoft Word using Track Changes. I do not ghostwrite, invent content or alter research findings. Every assignment has a clear scope, delivery date and fixed project price.

It was excellent to work with Jim! He's refreshingly straightforward (no unnecessary fluff, just clear and useful impact). He also replied quickly at every stage. Jim did a careful, reliable review of our English copy. His edits were spot on for British English, every comment came with a clear reason, and he followed our style guide and glossary closely. Easy to work with and great value. Would happily work with him again.

An exceptional experience with Jim; my work was deeply corrected with very particular attention to maintaining the meaning of the paragraphs. Mr Jim pointed out some methodological shortcomings that I corrected. It was a perfect experience.

We (my book coach and I) had a great experience. We accepted 90% of the edits that Jim made to the book! We thought we did an excellent job and will use him again and recommend him to others. kkj
